And the issue you discuss is even worse with the wordpress free blogs, when there are so many nice designs why use the plain old default one?

Re: 12 Well Designed BlogSpot Blogs

Those are some great designs for a blogspot blog. To me, people who use blogspot are newbies, just getting their feet wet. I'm guessing these pro blogspot blogs are guys who have stuck with them so long they've decided to become more professional but don't want to make the switch to a new platform because they'd have to change url's. But why do they bother? Unless you're able to monetize them seems like a waste of time.

Re: 12 Well Designed BlogSpot Blogs

Is it worth changing from a wordpress to a blogspot engine. These are clearly talented people and maybe I'm being cynical but why bother? Why bother showcasing your skills when it's not marketable? I'm assuming people use blogger is because it's free. I guess maybe they are downloadable themes to get backlinks but I also think that blogspot people might not be as sophisticated to use other themes other than the generic ones? That's a gross assumption on my part but maybe I'm just brainwashed by the fact that people with their own hosting are more "serious".
